As we are on the feedback bandwagon this week, we asked our very own leadership coach, Ashley Treleaven what was one piece of feedback that she received that transformed her as a leader? … her response... “During my early days in leadership, I was given the feedback that I was coming across short and cold to some of our team members. This was hard to hear because I knew this did not fundamentally align with my desire to be of support and service to others. However, I knew I also loved moving quickly to achieve results. This was the first time I became aware that my need to achieve could outshine my care. From that point on I became acutely aware of how my actions may be perceived and I work daily to keep these two areas in balance. Feedback is a gift, and a powerful skill in anyone’s leadership journey. We love equipping leaders with these skills.

It’s important for us as leadership coaches & trainers to model the principles we teach. One of those principles is getting crystal clear on your personal values so you can effectively lead yourself. For leadership coach, Ashley Treleaven, this has taken on deeper meaning over the past year as she begun on of her most important roles of all - motherhood. Ashley lives her values of family and connection everyday by creating a life and career with her family at the center. This principle is a critical step in becoming the leader you strive to be.
